Inter Milan are hoping to make it a perfect ten wins from ten matches in 2024 against Lecce in Serie A this evening.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter will not be underestimating this evening’s match or taking any result for granted at the Via del Mare.

For one thing, Lecce are a formidable side despite being a “lesser” name within Italian football.

The Puglian team have earned a foothold in the Serie A table this season. They have also done so playing high-tempo possession football.

And then there is the factor of squad rotation for Inter to think about.

The Nerazzurri have largely not made massive changes from match to match in recent weeks.

But this evening’s match should see that change.

Players like Alexis Sanchez, Yann Bisseck, Davide Frattesi, and Kristjan Asllani should be among the starting eleven.

So this match will be a test for those players.

Inter Aiming To Make It Ten From Ten In 2024 Vs Lecce In Serie A

Even with the changes to the starting eleven, though, Inter will still surely be the favourites on paper this evening.

And if the Nerazzurri can take three points back to Milan, it would be their tenth straight win.

The last time Inter failed to win came in an away match to Genoa. That was at the end of December.

In the two months since, Inter have won the lot.

There have been six straight Serie A victories. And triumphs over Lazio and Napoli to win the Supercoppa Italiana.

Last Tuesday, Inter beat Atletico Madrid in their Champions League round of sixteen first leg.

So a victory against Lecce would make it ten in a row since the start of January.

Moreover, a victory would mean Inter would go to 66 points from 25 matches played.

That would see the Nerazzurri taking points at a rate of 2.64 per match. That would be on pace for a hundred points.

Only once in the history of Serie A has a team hit triple figures in a league campaign. That was Juventus in the 2013-14 season under Antonio Conte.
