Giorgio Scalvini is a doubt for Atalanta in tomorrow’s Serie A match against Inter Milan, with isak Hien ready to start in his place.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini has largely gone with the same back three in his team’s recent matches.

Albanian international Berat Djimsiti has started in the middle of the defense.

Meanwhile, former Arsenal, Marseille, and Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac has started on Djimsiti’s left. And Italian international Scalvini has started on the right.

Scalvini is a versatile defender capable of playing in any position in a back three.

And it has been on the right that the 20-year-old has found himself needed by his club.

But Scalvini had to come off with a shoulder injury against AC Milan in last Sunday’s Serie A match.

La Dea snatched a 1-1 draw from the San Siro in that match against the Rossoneri. However, the loss of Scalvini would certainly be a blow.

Scalvini A Doubt For Atalanta Vs Inter – Hien Ready To Start

Atalanta will be right back at the San Siro tomorrow evening.

The Lombard team will take on Inter this time, in the makeup match for the fixture postponed in mid-January whilst the Nerazzurri had been away in Saudi Arabia for the Supercoppa Italiana.

The timing of the fixture means that Scalvini has little time to recover.

Therefore, it is not looking likely that the young Italian international will be ready to start.

That will mean that Gasperini must re-tool the backline a bit.

Djimsiti and Kolasinac should remain. However. 25-year-old Swedish international Hien will come in on the right.

Hien joined from Hellas Verona last month. He had been a long-term target for La Dea.

Hien has not yet managed to dislodge any of the other three members of Atalanta’s back three from the lineup. But tomorrow could be his chance.
