Marko Arnautovic is the favourite ahead of Alexis Sanchez to start for Inter Milan against Atalanta tomorrow.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will already have to make his selection decisions for tomorrow’s match.

The Nerazzurri only just played a couple days ago, beating Lecce in Serie A on Sunday.

But tomorrow evening, Inter host Atalanta in the makeup game for the fixture that they missed whilst they were in Saudi Arabia for the Supercoppa Italiana.

And after Inter played with a heavily rotated team on Sunday, tomorrow’s starting eleven should look a lot more like the first-choice lineup.

However, there will be a couple notable absentees.

One is midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu. The former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen man is out with a thigh problem.

And defender Francesco Acerbi still will not be able to return.

Lastly, striker Marcus Thuram will be missing due to a muscle strain that he picked up against Atletico Madrid in last week’s Champions League round of sixteen clash.

Marko Arnautovic Ahead Of Alexis Sanchez To Start Vs Atalanta

When Thuram went off against Atletico, it was Arnautovic who replaced him.

The Austrian came off the bench for the second half. And he proved to be Inter’s unlikely hero, scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win.

But Arnautovic did not start against Lecce over the weekend.

Rather, it was Alexis Sanchez who started that match. The former Arsenal veteran saw out the full ninety minutes, grabbing an assist to cap off an impressive display.

Then Arnautovic replaced Inter captain Lautaro Martinez in the second half.

According to the Corriere, it will be Arnautovic and Martinez starting together tomorrow, though.

That will mean that Sanchez drops to the bench, with the former West Ham United and Bologna striker taking his place.
