Inter Milan midfielder Kristjan Asllani feels that whilst Atalanta are tough opposition, the Nerazzurri are determined to get the points.

The 21-year-old spoke to InterTV, via FCInterNews, ahead of this evening’s Serie A clash. He also opened up about what he has learned from teammate Hakan Calhanoglu.

This evening, Inter are looking to make it eleven wins from eleven since the start of 2024.

That statistic alone makes it clear the kind of form that the Nerazzurri are in heading into this evening’s match.

But Atalanta will be one of the tougher tests that Inter have faced since the turn of the year. At least on paper.

Inter’s Lombard rivals have become regulars in the Champions League under Gian Piero Gasperini.

And that is what La Dea are fighting for this evening.

Atalanta need points to hold off the likes of Bologna, Roma, and others in fourth place. Every bit as much as Inter need to points to keep Juventus at bay at the top of the table.

Inter Midfielder Kristjan Asllani: Atalanta Strong, But We Want The Points

From the perspective of midfielder Asllani, however, there is certainly no lack of motivation from Inter in this difficult match.

The Nerazzurri are still in a title race against Juventus. Even with the sizable lead that they have amassed at the top of the table.

And an opportunity to add to their cushion at the top like this evening’s game in hand on their main title rivals is hardly one that they will want to pass up.

“Atalanta play an aggressive man-marking system,” Asllani said.

“We know how dangerous they can be. But we always play as a team, and we will be careful about their counterattacks.”

“We know that we’re coming up against a strong team who have gotten a lot of good results recently,” he added.

“But we’ll try to play our game and get the three points.”

And of his teammate Calhanoglu, Asllani said that “We talk a lot. He gives me advice.”

“He told me to be more aggressive,” the Albanian international revealed of his fellow midfielder.

“I’m very happy to have someone like him playing alongside me.”
