Simone Inzaghi feels very happy with life at Inter Milan.

The Nerazzurri coach spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, following his team’s 4-0 Serie A victory over Atalanta.

Inzaghi has arguably never enjoyed a period as good in his coaching career as right now.

The 47-year-old has led Inter to eleven wins from eleven matches in all competitions since the start of 2024.

The Nerazzurri’s last four Serie A matches have all seen the team score four goals. And in three of them, they have kept clean sheet.

Inter also kept a clean sheet in their Champions League round of sixteen first leg against Atletico Madrid. That match, a 1-0 win, saw the Nerazzurri take a big step towards the quarterfinals.

Simone Inzaghi: ‘I Feel Great Here At Inter’

And for his part, Inzaghi is enjoying every minute of this.

“I feel great here,” the former Lazio coach said. “With the club, and with the fans.”

As far as a prospective contract extension at Inter, Inzaghi said that “There’s no point talking about it right now. There are still three months to go in the season.”

“That’s three months in which we have to keep our concentration at the absolute maximum.”

Inzaghi added that “There isn’t anything else on our minds right now.”

“And then the club itself also wants to see us keep playing the same way.”

Inzaghi noted that “I have a team where I can change the players around, and still have them play with the same principles.”

“That’s the thing that makes me happiest, along with what we’ve created at the San Siro with the fans.”

“It’s always hard for me to make my decisions,” Inzaghi noted. “Dumfries had been very good against Lecce, and perhaps he deserved to play here.”

“But then Darmian has been brilliant over the last two months. He had a great first half, but then I decided to take him off because he was on a booking.”

And of the match against Atalanta, Inzaghi said that “They pressed us very well in the first fifteen minutes.”

“We didn’t start the match as well as usual,” he added.

“But then we did very well. We scored, we hit the crossbar, and then in the second half we came back and played with ferocity.”

Davide Frattesi Injury Worry, Praise For Bastoni

As far as what he spoke with midfielder Davide Frattesi about when the 24-year-old came off, Inzaghi explained that “I wanted to check on his condition.”

“In Lecce he had been extraordinary but he had some cramps.”

“It will be a shame if we lose him for any amount of time to injury, because his physical condition is great,” Inzaghi said.

And Inzaghi also praised the performance of defender Alessandro Bastoni.

“He’ll have missed a match or two out of 125. But he has monstrous intelligence.”

“We’ll miss him on Monday, because he’s important for us,” Inzaghi said. Bastoni will be out with a one-match against suspension in Inter’s next match against Genoa.

“But then he can come back well-rested for the next one.”
