Oud-Heverlee Leuven goalkeeper Tobe Leysen admitted that he could hardly believe it when he first learned that Inter Milan are keeping tabs on him.

In recent weeks, the Nerazzurri sent former club captain Samir Handanovic to scout the 21-year-old.

The young Belgian is a youth product of both Waterloo and Genk. He eventually made the switch to OH Leuven in the summer.

The custodian managed to cement himself as a regular starter at his new club. He has thus far made 13 appearances in Belgium’s top flight, conceding 13 goals in the process and registering four clean sheets.

Leysen has now publicly discussed Inter’s interest. He reveals that he didn’t believe the story until he saw the evidence.

“At first I didn’t believe it, but then I saw the proof in the photo. Handanovic was actually there!” said the goalkeeper in his interview with “Het Belang van Limburg” via FcInterNews.

Nevertheless, the Belgium U21 starlet confirms that his agent only had a brief chat with the legendary Nerazzurri skipper.

“My agent made contact with Handanovic through a brief telephone call. But since then, there has been nothing at the level of the club.

“As long as they don’t call me or the club, there’s nothing to say.”

Therefore, the young shot-stopper prefers to remain fully focused on the pitch rather than dwelling on transfer possibilities.

“If I start thinking about transfer talks, I would just go crazy!”

Leysen has a contract with OH Leuven that runs until June 2027.
