Striker Marcus Thuram will be fit enough to play as a substitute in Inter Milan’s Serie A clash with Genoa on Monday.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Frenchman is back in full training. He will be aiming to be at full fitness for the match against Atletico Madrid in a couple weeks.

Thuram has missed Inter’s past couple matches.

The 26-year-old had picked up a thigh problem in Inter’s Champions League round of sixteen first leg win over Atletico Madrid.

And that injury kept Thuram out of Serie A wins over Lecce and Atalanta.

However, Thuram’s recovery process has been progressing well.

And this weekend, the Frenchman has managed to make a return to full training.

Marcus Thuram Fit To Appear As Substitute For Inter Vs Genoa

According to the Gazzetta, Thuram trained with the rest of the squad today.

The former Borussia Monchengladbach and Guingamp man was able to complete a full training session.

Therefore, Thuram should be able to be part of Inter’s squad for their Serie A match against Genoa at the end of the weekend.

However, that does not mean that Thuram will be able to start that match. On the contrary.

Once again, the World Cup finalist will be out of the starting eleven on Monday. However, he will be able to be on the bench for the Serie A match against Genoa.

And there is a good chance of seeing Thuram during the second half.

The Frenchman could come on as a substitute to get a run-out of at least a few minutes.

Between the next two league matches against Genoa and Bologna, Thuram will aim to build match-fitness.

That way, in the second leg of the Champions League tie against Atletico, the 26-year-old should be somewhere close to his best physically.
