Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi will reach three hundred matches in Serie A as coach against Genoa on Monday.

This is highlighted by Italian outlet FCInter1908. The outlet note that the Nerazzurri boss will have more wins as coach in that period than any other coach in the history of Italian top flight.

Inzaghi first came onto the Serie A scene as a coach in April of 2016.

Already a familiar face at Lazio from his playing days as a striker, Inzaghi had been in charge of the Biancocelesti’s youth teams for some years already.

And following the dismissal of Stefano Pioli, Inzaghi took charge of the senior team.

And Inzaghi coached Lazio for the rest of that season.

It seemed as though that would be the end of Inzaghi’s time in charge. The Biancocelesti briefly appointed Marcelo Bielsa as his replacement.

But following a stormy parting of ways with the Argentine, Lazio brought back Inzaghi as coach.

It was a decision that would prove to be a very positive one in the Italian capital.

Simone Inzaghi To Reach 300 Serie A Matches As Coach Vs Genoa

Inzaghi would coach a total of 197 Serie A matches as Lazio coach.

There were five very positive seasons with the former striker at the helm after the club from the capital placed their faith in him following the saga with Bielsa.

Then in 2021, Inzaghi earned a move to Inter.

The Nerazzurri decided on Inzaghi as the successor to Antonio Conte.

And the 47-year-old is now well into his third season at the helm. And there is no sign that his time at Inter will end any time soon.

Inzaghi is on course to win his first ever Serie A title as a coach this season.

And with the Nerazzurri’s 22 wins from 26 matches this campaign, the former Lazio boss has taken his total number of wins to 178 from 299 matches, between two clubs.

That is more than any of Carlo Ancelotti, Max Allegri, Helenio Herrera, or Giovanni Trappatoni, the other coaches to record the most Serie A wins during their first three hundred matches as coach in the division.
