Inter Milan defender Benjamin Pavard is anticipating a tough match against Genoa in this evening’s Serie A clash.

This Frenchman spoke to InterTV ahead of this evening’s match, via FCInterNews.

Inter have the chance to make it twelve wins in a row in 2024 this evening at the San Siro.

But they will have to beat the last team that they failed to win against in order to do so.

The last time Inter and Genoa met was at the end of December. That match, at the Marassi, saw the Nerazzurri go ahead, but then the Grifone respond to earn a point.

It was a tough, physical match against a well-organized Genoa side who pressed Inter in a very organized manner.

Few matches this season have seen the Nerazzurri struggle to establish their rhythm in possession to such a degree.

The intense atmosphere at Genoa’s home stadium also undoubtedly played its role.

But this time around, it will be the Ligurians who play as the away side. And they will have to do so in the formidable setting that is a packed San Siro.

Benjamin Pavard Anticipating Tough Match Vs Genoa

“We know that they’re a tricky team who have already caused problems for us,” Pavard said.

“But this time, we’ll have the support of our fans behind us. So we can really give our best.”

As far as how Inter have prepared to set up for this match, Pavard said “The same as in all matches.”

“We studied how they play well,” the former Bayern Munich defender continued.

“We have to play well in both the defensive and the offensive phase,” he added.

“And we defenders also have to take advantage of our opportunities.”

Genoa beat Udinese at home in their last match. Prior to that, they earned a draw away to Napoli.
