Carlos Augusto and Alexis Sanchez will start for Inter Milan in this evening’s Serie A match against Genoa.

Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, report that the Brazilian will start in defense, whilst the Chilean will lead the line along with Lautaro Martinez.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has promised some squad rotation ahead of this evening’s match.

It is not as though the coach will radically overhaul the team that beat Atalanta last week. But he will freshen things up a bit.

It is the period of the season where Inzaghi must think about resting key players.

And the coach will aim to make full use of the squad that he has available to him.

Carlos Augusto & Alexis Sanchez To Start For Inter Vs Genoa

One area in which Inzaghi has little choice but to make a change comes in defense.

Defender Alessandro Bastoni will not be available for this evening’s match. The 24-year-old will be serving a one-match suspension after picking up a yellow card against his former team Atalanta.

Therefore, Sky reports, Carlos Augusto will start in Bastoni’s place.

The versatile Brazilian has proven adept at playing in the back three. Like Matteo Darmian on the right, the former Monza man has proven to be more than just an emergency option in defense.

Augusto had previously started against Lecce in last weekend’s Serie A match.

So Augusto will make up the Inter back three along with Stefan de Vrij and Benjamin Pavard this evening.

Then, in attack Sanchez will return. The former Arsenal man will replace Marko Aranautovic, starting alongside Inter captain Martinez.

Like Augusto, Sanchez had started against Lecce, but dropped out of the eleven against Atalanta.

The complete Sky predicted Inter starting eleven this evening is as follows:

Inter (3-5-2): Sommer; Pavard, De Vrij, Carlos Augusto; Dumfries, Barella, Asllani, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Lautaro, Sanchez.
