Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram, defender Francesco Acerbi, and midfielder Davide Frattesi will be fit enough for the bench against Genoa.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

This is the part of the season where injuries unfortunately start to pile up for team.

And Inter haven’t been immune to this.

Firstly, there has been striker Thuram. The Frenchman had enjoyed an exemplary record of availability since joining Inter on a free transfer last summer.

But Thuram picked up a thigh strain against Atletico Madrid last month.

The 26-year-old came off at halftime in that Champions League round of sixteen first leg.

But Thuram has been recovering. And according to the Gazzetta, the striker is now back to fitness.

Thuram will not start this evening’s match against Genoa – Alexis Sanchez will partner Lautaro Martinez in attack.

But the Frenchman could come off the bench. The aim will surely be to have Thuram at his best condition for the second leg against Atletico next week.

Not Just Thuram – Acerbi & Frattesi Fit Enough For Bench Vs Genoa

Another player who will be coming back after a few weeks on the sidelines is defender Acerbi.

The 35-year-old former Lazio and Sassuolo defender has been out since Inter’s Serie A win away to Roma last month. He came off with a calf injury during the second half of that match.

As with Thuram, Acerbi will not start this evening’s match.

Rather, Acerbi’s fellow ex-Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij will continue his run of starts in defense.

But Acerbi will be on the bench, and could appear at some stage.

The same is true of midfielder Frattesi.

The 24-year-old Italian international had an injury scare in last week’s Serie A win over Atalanta. He had to come off right after scoring, having only been on the pitch for a little over ten minutes.

But Frattesi did not pick up a serious injury. And he is ready to potentially play a part this evening, although he will not start.
