Inter Milan midfielder Kristjan Asllani is elated after scoring his first ever goal for the Nerazzurri against Genoa at the San Siro.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, after the 2-1 Serie A win, Asllani called scoring the goal a “special feeling.”

Asllani is now off the mark in front of goal as an Inter.

Scoring goals is hardly the 21-year-old former Empoli midfielder’s main job in the team. Asllani is a deep-lying midfielder.

But Asllani showed that he is capable of popping up in the penalty area.

The Albanian timed his run perfectly to latch onto a pass from Alexis Sanchez after a lighting counterattack.

And Asllani showed the composure of someone who’s scored dozens of goals to wait for the right moment. And he showcased his formidable technique with his finish.

Moreover, Asllani chose an important moment in which to score his first Inter goal.

Genoa gave the Nerazzurri a very tough match at their home stadium. And the match had looked very much in the balance before Asllani gave Inter their advantage.

Kristjan Asllani: Scoring At San Siro A “Special Feeling”

Asllani’s goal helped Inter to a 2-1 win. This took the Nerazzurri to nine straight wins in Serie A, and twelve wins from twelve in all competitions since the start of 2024.

Asllani also put in an accomplished display to help the team to see out the result.

But it was surely the 21-year-old’s goal that will be most remembered from his performance.

Asllani said that he dedicated his goal “To my family, and to these guys.”

“They all came to embrace me,” the midfielder continued. “Because I’ve been waiting for this goal for a long time. I’m a huge fan.”

Asllani beamed, “Scoring it in front of the San Siro is a special feeling.”

The Albanian called the victory “An important win.”

“They’re a good team who have picked up a lot of points this season,” he went on.

Asllani commented that “The goal that we conceded could have been avoided of course.”

“There was some tiredness. But the important thing was to get the three points.”

“Now we have to think about Bologna,” Asllani added. “We have to go there and have the hunger to take three points.”
