Inter Milan made it sixteen goalscorers in Serie A this season with Kristjan Asllani and Alexis Sanchez finding the back of the net against Genoa.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

The numbers make clear how impressive Inter’s attack has been this season.

No team in Europe’s top five leagues has scored as many goals as the Nerazzurri have this campaign.

But that’s not all. Inter have also impressed with how they are able to get goals from all over the pitch.

The Nerazzurri have involved players from the wide areas, midfield, and defense.

It may be Lautaro Martinez who is really powering Inter’s attack numerically speaking with his 24 goals in Serie A so far. But the Argentine had a quiet night against Genoa yesterday – and it mattered little.

When Martinez is unable to get on the scoresheet, Inter have many other possible options to score.

A key reason for this is the fact that Simone Inzaghi’s system allows positional rotations. Therefore, players can pop up in the penalty area from out of their “natural” positions and get on the end of chances.

That can mean the wingbacks or midfielders. It can even mean the defenders.

And yesterday against Genoa, midfielder Asllani gave a perfect illustration.

The 21-year-old had the license to burst forward through midfield when the space opened up to him.

Even though Asllani plays deep at the base of midfield, he was able to get forward with his teammates covering.

And the Albanian took advantage of the situation very well. He finished expertly past Genoa goalkeeper Josep Martinez.

Then it was the turn of veteran former Arsenal and Manchester United forward Sanchez.

The 35-year-old had already scored twice in the Champions League this season. But yesterday, he got his first in Serie A during his second stint with Inter.
