Inter Milan continued their “unstoppable” run to go fifteen points clear of Juventus by beating Genoa in Serie A.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, highlight the Nerazzurri’s dominant run at the top of the table.

Inter had to dig in their heels and suffer to take three points yesterday.

Unlike in recent 4-0 wins against Salernitana, Lecce, and Atalanta, the Nerazzurri were not able to grab a statement scoreline.

Inter may have been coursing with confidence after going 2-0 up in the first half. But a Genoa goal in the second meant that the Nerazzurri were in for a nervy last half an hour.

But in the end, Inter held firm and made it twelve wins from twelve in 2024.

“Unstoppable” Inter 15 Points Clear Of Juventus After Genoa Win

Genoa did more than just about any team in the past few weeks to prevent Inter from winning.

The Grifone approached the match with a clear plan to press Inter high up the pitch and try to get in behind the Nerazzurri in wide areas.

That meant that there were plenty of good chances for the Ligurians to score more goals, in both halves.

And Genoa sustained their pressure for much of the second half.

But at this moment in time, everything just seems to be going Inter’s way.

There was a first goal in a Nerazzurri shirt for Kristjan Asllani. And a dubious penalty which Alexis Sanchez dispatched clinically for his first Serie A goal of the season.

There was an excellent Yann Sommer save.

There were a few important players missing in a rotated starting eleven.

But the end result was the same thing it has been for weeks now – an Inter victory.

And Juventus, Inter’s main title rivals just a few weeks ago, have been trending in the opposite direction.

The Bianconeri’s loss to Napoli on Sunday was their third in the space of a few weeks, and the fifth time they’ve dropped points.

This means that the Nerazzurri now hold what looks to be an unassailable fifteen-point advantage at the top.
