Over one million spectators have already filled up the San Siro for Inter Milan matches in Serie A this season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper notes that the average attendance for Inter home matches has been 73,102.

This campaign, as with the last several, has seen Inter sell out the San Siro on a virtually week-to-week basis.

The team has not quite managed to pack the stadium to full capacity every single weekend in Serie A. But they’ve come close.

The San Siro can accommodate over 75,000 fans. And the average attendance is not far from that.

Away fans have also naturally played a role in this. If the full allotment of tickets for travelling supporters does not sell out for a match, then nor does the match as a whole.

Inter packed 75,421 fans into the stadium for their win over Genoa on Monday.

This meant that the average remains very close to a complete sell-out for Inter in Serie A.

And it also sees the team break a significant milestone.

San Siro Cracks 1M Total Spectators In Serie A This Season For Inter Matches

The more than 75,000 spectators at the San Siro for Inter’s Serie A match against Genoa earlier this week saw the total number of fans in the stadium for Nerazzurri matches in the league rise above one million.

Inter have pushed past this milestone in a total of fourteen league fixtures.

That does not include matches in the Champions League. Inter have played a total of four matches in that competition.

Inter’s next match at the San Siro will be against Napoli.

Then there will be clashes with Empoli, Cagliari, Torino, and finally Lazio on the penultimate day of the season.

Inter’s charge to the Serie A title is certainly doing nothing to hurt the club’s attendances.
