Bologna manager Thiago Motta expresses his great admiration for Inter Milan and their coach Simone Inzaghi ahead of Saturday’s encounter.

The former Italy international represented the Nerazzurri during his playing days. He was part of Jose Mourinho’s treble-winning squad in 2009/10.

The 41-year-old has now established himself as one of the most sought-after young tacticians in Europe.

His Bologna side is enjoying a sensational campaign, currently sitting fourth in the Serie A table.

On Saturday, the Emilians will take on Inter for the third time this season.

The two clubs shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw at San Siro in the reverse fixture. Meanwhile, the Rossoblu eliminated Inzaghi’s men in the Coppa Italia Round of 16.

For his part, Motta is looking forward to the challenge, while revealing his great respect for his former employers.

“It will be a good match to play. Inter are favorites in Serie A as well as Champions League finalists. We have great respect for them,” said the Bologna coach in his pre-match press conference via FcInterNews.

“We’re facing a team with great values. We’ll take this challenge with the utmost respect, hoping that we will be able to maintain our great run for as long as possible.”

Bologna Coach Simone Inzaghi Looking To Find & Exploit Any Weak Points In Inter Milan

Motta also heaped praise on his colleague Simone Inzaghi, but warned that every team has its Achilles Heel.

“I truly admire Inzaghi, he has his own footballing ideas and he knows what he wants.

“Weaknesses? Yes, every team has them. It’s hard to find one that doesn’t. But clearly, at this level, the weak points are fewer.

“But we will try to exploit them while using our strength against a team that is the favorite to win the Scudetto.”
