Former Inter Milan owner Massimo Moratti reveals how current Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi is different from Roberto Mancini.
During the 78-year-old’s reign at the helm of the club, he appointed some of the most famous coaches in the world. The list includes the likes of Jose Mourinho, Marcello Lippi and Mancini.
While the latter didn’t achieve great success on the European scene, he helped establish Inter as the dominant force in Italian football in the post-Calciopoli era.
Therefore, Moratti remains fond and grateful to the former Man City boss.
While he does see some similarities between Mancini and Inzaghi, he also notes different traits.
The current Nerazzurri manager is proving to be one of the most serene coaches of his generation. On the contrary, Mancini is a more emotional individual.
“Is Inzaghi similar to the younger version of Mancini? There may be similarities, but temperamentally, they are different,” noted Moratti in his interview with Gian Luca Rossi via FcInter1908.
“Mancini was remarkably emotional and therefore it was necessary to be close to him. But I was happy to share his anxieties.
“I am very grateful to him, as he made us make the leap in quality with a good team.
“As for Inzaghi, he has great skills. He chose the right players and formed a solid backline. He deserves great merit. And then, our midfield is remarkable.”

On another note, the former president identified Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee as the one player he’d love to bring to Inter.
“I really like Zirkze. He plays with great simplicity, like a grown-up with children.
“He dictates the tempo of the whole team and moves smoothly on the pitch. I find him a fantastic player.
“It would be obvious to say Mbappé. But I have to pick a realistic option and I think it is impossible to bring the Frenchman.
“I would gladly go to the stadium to watch the game if Zirkzee was on the pitch.”
