Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin expects Yann Sommer to remain as the Number One at Inter Milan for next season.

The 35-year-old ended a short spell at Bayern Munich to join the Nerazzurri in the summer. He has been filling in admirably for Andre Onana who signed for Manchester United.

The Swiss has proven himself to be a reliable presence between the sticks. He has thus far collected 16 clean sheets in 26 Serie A appearances while only conceding 13 goals.

Therefore, Biasin believes that the management will trust him with the starting gloves for at least another season.

“For me, Inter’s starting goalkeeper for next season will still be Sommer,” said the journalist in his interview with TV Play via FcInter1908.

Nevertheless, he expects the Nerazzurri to change the vetaran’s support cast.

“As for the backup goalkeeper, I expect the arrival of a profile aware of the role.

“My feeling is that Inter will get a second goalkeeper who can later become the first choice. Perhaps some profiles in South America would make the cut.”

This would ultimately spell the end of Emil Audero’s time at the club.

The 27-year-old joined on loan from Sampdoria last summer. The Nerazzurri have the option to buy him at the end of the season for 7 million euros.

Nevertheless, Biasin suggests that the management could lean towards a fresh profile, thus snubbing the Juventus youth product.

Audero has made three appearances across all competitions this term, but has yet to register a clean sheet.
