Former Inter Milan man Benoit Cauet lauds Nicolo Barella for his great playing abilities but urges him to change his attitude.

The Italy international joined the Nerazzurri in 2019 and has become a stalwart at the club.

The vice-captain is an incredibly popular figure among Inter supporters but his demeanor can get under the skin of his opponents.

Therefore, Cauet feels that some of the Sardinian’s actions might paint him in a bad light. So he advises him to tune it down.

“Barella is a player with a particular personality. Perhaps even different from all others, given his behavior, ability and quality,” said the Frenchman in his interview with Tuttosport via FcInterNews.

“He has a determination and strength in conveying the desire to win, which is incredible. However, sometimes his attitude can seem exaggerated.

“He wants the best for himself and for the team. Probably those who see him every day don’t even notice what he does, but from the outside, he could come across differently.”

Benoit Cauet Urges Inter Milan Star Nicolo Barella To Improve His Behavior

Nevertheless, Cauet insisted that Barella is one of the best midfielder in the world. He also feels that he has what it takes to become club captain.

“Compared to when he arrived at Inter, Barella has improved a lot. Both in terms of play and behavior.

“He is among the best midfielders in the world. Nicolo is very strong. He has everything. Quality, quantity, ballistics.

“He’s a complete player, capable of carrying out both phases, defensive and offensive, in the best possible way.

“The Italian plays all over the field. And he has already won the European championship, among other trophies.

“Can Barella become a captain one day? He certainly can. Everyone has defects, the important thing is to try to correct them.

“Barella is a leader at the club and is attached to the shirt. He has everything to succeed.

“At Inter, there are and always will be great responsibilities for a player like him.”
