Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi received the Bearzot Award for the best manager in Italian football.

This accolade is named after Enzo Bearzot, the legendary Italian manager who led the Azzurri towards World Cup glory in 1982 and is organized in collaboration with the FIGC.

Last season, it was current Italy manager Luciano Spalletti who received the honor. It was following his remarkable campaign at Napoli.

But in the edition, Inzaghi proved to be the rightful recipient.

The 47-year-old is enjoying a sensational campaign with Inter thus far. The club currently leads the Serie A charts, 15 points ahead of their closest chasers.

Inzaghi is on the cusp of securing the club’s 20th Scudetto title and subsequently the second Golden Star.

Therefore, the organizing committee of the Bearzot Award recognized Inzaghi as the undisputed choice for the honor.

Therefore, the Piacenza native was grateful for the organizers in his acceptance message.

He also paid tribute to his collaborators and family who made this achievement possible

“I am deeply grateful for this prestigious award named after such a great football coach and person,” said the Inter boss as published by La Repubblica via FcInterNews.

“This recognition would not have been possible without the extraordinary support of all those who have worked with me over the years. I dedicate this award to them and to my family as well.”

The organizers will hold a special ceremony on April 22nd to officially present Inzaghi with the award. It will take place at the CONI Hall of Honor.

In the meantime, the Inter coach will be looking to boost his reputation even further by accomplishing more feats.

The Italian giants will be looking to overcome Atletico Madrid in Tuesday’s decisive clash to reach the Champions League quarter-finals. They currently hold a slim 1-0 lead following the first leg.
