Forward Alexis Sanchez wants to stay at Inter Milan, with a meeting to discuss the Chilean’s future set for next month.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews.

At the moment, Sanchez’s contract with Inter runs until the end of June of this year.

Therefore, if the Nerazzurri do not offer the 35-year-old a new contract, then he will be on his way out at the end of the current season.

But according to FCIN, Sanchez is in no hurry to leave Inter.

There are other offers for the former Arsenal, Manchester United, and Barcelona veteran’s signature in the event that he does leave Inter.

FCIN report that Brazilian club Gremio have registered their interest in signing Sanchez.

And then there are also clubs in the Turkish and Saudi Arabian leagues that consider the Inter forward a target.

But as far as the player himself is concerned, the priority would be to stay at Inter.

Sanchez made the surprise return to the Nerazzurri last summer, just one summer after leaving to join Marseille on a free transfer. And he is happy where he is.

Alexis Sanchez Wants Inter Stay – Meeting Set For April

According to FCIN, Inter have not yet made a decision regarding whether or not to keep Sanchez in the squad for next season.

With Mehdi Taremi set to arrive from Porto, there will be one notable addition to the attack.

But at the same time, Inter would certainly see the value in having a fifth forward.

Particularly with the expanded Champions League and Club World Cup formats, there will be a need for a deep squad.

Therefore, having Sanchez in the team would certainly be helpful.

Moreover, Sanchez would not be too costly to keep around. The 35-year-old currently earns around 2.8 million net per season.

Particularly if Sanchez were to accept a small pay cut, then there would be no big outlay needed to retain the Chilean’s services.

And FCIN also note that Sanchez has a good relationship with his teammates in the dressing room. This kind of positive presence is another factor that would factor his staying.

But Inter have not yet made a decision. The club will wait a few weeks.

FCIN report that Sanchez’s agent will be at Inter’s headquarters in April. There, the club will decide once and for all whether or not to keep Sanchez past the end of the current season.
