Italian journalist Paolo Condo feels that Inter Milan have surpassed Napoli from under Luciano Spalletti last season.

Speaking on Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInter1908, Condo likened the Nerazzurri’s football this campaign to “science fiction.”

For the second season in a row, the title race in Serie A appears to be all but over with a few months left to go.

Last time around, it had been Napoli who dominated the Italian top flight.

It wasn’t until April that the Partenopei mathematically made certain of finishing the season as champions.

But in reality, it had been clinched long before then.

And the same looks to be true of Inter this time around.

Of course, as long as the title is not mathematically certain, then Inter cannot truly take anything for granted.

But the reality is that Inter’s advantage at the top now looks to be very close to unassailable.

Condo: “Science Fiction” Inter This Season Better Than Napoli Last Season

The Nerazzurri’s victory over Bologna yesterday means that they are still on pace to plausibly finish the campaign with over a hundred points in the table.

That would certainly be a big statement from Simone Inzaghi’s side.

And it looks to be likely that Inter – who are already on 75 points after 28 matches played – will surpass the ninety points that Napoli picked up last season.

Condo commented, “Do you remember how we talked up the incredible performances of Napoli last season?”

“Well, up to this point in the season, Inter have four points more.”

“They’ve scored six goals more, and conceded seven fewer,” compared to Napoli last season.

Condo exclaimed, “It’s pure science fiction!”

“Now we’re all waiting for Wednesday’s match,” (against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League) Condo said.

“If they can go through to the next round, and they have all the cards to, then it could be down to how Inzaghi manages his squad. And he knows how to do so.”
