Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi feels that facing Atletico Madrid at the Metropolitano will be a very different proposition than doing so at the San Siro.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, the coach predicted that his team will have to do something more in the second leg of their Champions League round of sixteen tie than in the first.

Inter beat Atletico in the first leg of their Champions League tie last month.

And it was a fairly convincing victory as well. The 1-0 scoreline only told half the story, as the Nerazzurri had chances to score more, whilst the Colchoneros could not manage a shot on target.

However, Atletico are a team whose record at home is superior to their record away.

And Inter will know exactly what this means.

The Nerazzurri’s 1-0 advantage is a very slender one, knowing that their opposition will play with an even greater intensity than in the first leg thanks to the support of their fans.

That is exactly what Inter must keep in mind if they’re to protect their advantage and reach the quarterfinals.

Inter Coach Simone Inzaghi: Atletico Madrid A Different Team At Home

Inter coach Inzaghi observed that “The result of the first leg certainly gives us a small advantage.”

“But we won’t try to speculate on it or manage it.”

“We will try to play our game,” the Nerazzurri coach went on.

“Knowing that we’re up against a very strong opponent, who are transformed into a different team at home.”

“The path that they’ve been on in La Liga shows what kind of a team they are here,” he added.

“They’ve only lost to Athletic Club this season.”

“The team knows that we will have to be extremely focused,” Inzaghi added.

“We know what we’re up against.”

“Atletico are a very, very strong side here. And so we’ve prepared for it as best we can over the past two and a half days.”
