Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali believes his Inter Milan counterpart Beppe Marotta would be the ideal profile for the FIGC presidency.

Current FIGC president Gabriele Gravina is currently under investigation for alleged embezzlement and self-laundering.

Therefore, Carnevali believes Marotta would be the perfect candidate to assume the post.

The long-time Sassuolo official heaps praise over the Nerazzurri CEO whom he would love to work alongside him once again.

“It would be fantastic to start working again with Marotta,” said Carnevali in his interview with Radio TV Serie A via FcInterNews.

“However, it would be difficult in the same club as we have two quite similar roles. It also depends on what he does in the future.

“Therefore, never say never. I’d love this prospect as there’s always something to learn from Beppe.

“FIGC president? As well as being a great director, Marotta is also a great politician. So he could be perfect for the role because he knows our problems.

“He has all the skills required to succeed in this role.”

On another note, Carnevali hints that he had a proposal from one of the big three Serie A giants, namely Inter Milan, AC Milan and Juventus.

However, he felt that the timing wasn’t right to turn his back on Sassuolo.

“When I received some proposals, both Sassuolo owner Squinzi and his wife were unwell. So I didn’t feel like leaving.

“Did the big three ask for my services? Well, rather than tell a lie, I prefer not to respond.”

The 63-year-old has been serving as the CEO of Sassuolo since the summer of 2014.
