Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin is eager to see a strong reaction from Inter Milan following their Champions League elimination.

The Nerazzurri bid the Champions League farewell on Wednesday night after falling short against Atletico Madrid.

Simone Inzaghi’s men entered the second leg with a slim advantage after winning the first leg at home by one goal.

Federico Dimarco even gave the Italians a two-goal cushion on aggregate. But the Colchoneros managed to complete a remarkable comeback with goals from Antoine Griezmann and Memphis Depay.

The tie went to extra time and was eventually decided by penalty shootouts. Jan Oblak thwarted Alexis Sanchez and Davy Klaassen, while Lautaro Martinez’s shocking miss spelled the end of Inter’s European aspirations.

Nevertheless, Biasin urges the Beneamata to show their mettle.

He’s hoping that Inzaghi’s men overcome all the criticism and prove just how good they are.

“Defeats are always hard to swallow, let alone in the Champions League, after penalties shootouts, with the whole world expecting you to win,” posted Biasin on his X account.

“And yet despite the disappointment, you have to know how to accept it. it’s part of this world.

“And you know what? Even bullsh*t is useful. You have to know how to accept that too.”

“Yesterday, Inter were not as good as usual, they got stuck, they fell, it happens. But now we turn the page.”

While the journalist calls for the team to bounce back on the pitch, he also invites the fans to show their support for the club.

“The reaction on the pitch will measure the strength of this team.

“As for the fans, their ability to accept defeats measures their level of maturity.”
