Inter Milan are reportedly among the clubs that are monitoring Genoa breakout star Albert Gudmundsson ahead of a possible summer onslaught.

The Iceland international could be one of the hottest names on the market this summer.

The 26-year-old has cemented himself as one of the best revelations of the Serie A campaign.

The second striker has been delivering the goods week in week out for Alberto Gilardino’s side while operating as a second striker in the 3-5-2 formation.

He has fur contributed with 12 goals and four assists across all competitions for the Grifone.

According to La Stampa via FcInter1908, the Nerazzurri are among the clubs interested in the players’s services.

As the source tells it, Fiorentina tried to secure Gudmundsson’s signature in January but to no avail. Genoa simply refused to sell their key star for just 15 million euros.

Nevertheless, the situation could change in the summer, with bigger clubs entering the fray.

The Grifone will be looking to spark a bidding war that includes top Serie A sides as well as foreign suitors.

Aside from Inter, the report names AS Roma as another Italian club that has been monitoring the situation.

But that’s not all, as Premier League sides have been scouting the Icelandic star in recent weeks and chief among them are Tottenham Hotspur.

Therefore, Genoa will be looking to make a massive capital gain from the operation.

The Ligurians poached the striker’s services in January 2022 for just over 1 million euros. At the time, the player’s contract with AZ Alkmaar was about to expire, which explains the relatively low sum.

The source estimates his value to be around 30 million in the current market.

Gudmundsson’s deal with Genoa is valid until the summer of 2027.
