Midfielders Davide Frattesi and Kristjan Asllani could start for Inter Milan in tomorrow evening’s Serie A match against Napoli.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper also anticipates that Yann Bisseck could start in defense.
Tomorrow evening, Inter return to Serie A action.
The Nerazzurri do so after having experienced the bitter blow of elimination from Champions League during the week.
Inter will host Napoli in the first of ten matches in which the team will aim to clinch the Serie A title.
And Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi will have to decide how to set up his team to get past Wednesday’s disappointing evening in Madrid.
According to the Gazzetta, the coach could make a couple of changes to freshen up the midfield.
Davide Frattesi & Kristjan Asllani Could Start For Inter Vs Napoli
The Gazzetta notes that Inter’s midfielders looked to be particularly struggling towards the end of Wednesday’s match against Atletico.
Hakan Calhanoglu saw out all two hours of the gruelling match that went to extra time.
And veteran former Arsenal and Manchester United man Henrikh Mkhitaryan nearly went the distance.
The latter in particular looked to be feeling the pace and intensity of the match towards the end.
Therefore, the Gazzetta anticipates, Inzaghi may decide to shake up the midfield against Napoli tomorrow.
The usual trio was starting to look a bit stale against Atletico. As such, the Nerazzurri coach could give the nod to a couple of younger players.
Italy international Frattesi could take the place of Mkhitaryan. And then, former Empoli star Asllani could take Calhanoglu’s place in the Inter engine room.
Meanwhile, the Gazzetta predict, Germany Under-21 international Bisseck could also start.
The 23-year-old could replace Benjamin Pavard on the right of Inter’s defensive line.
On the other hand, the newspaper report, there will not be any changes in attack. Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram should lead the line as they did against Atletico.
