Inter Milan are aiming to raise the funds to invest in a striker this summer with the sales of a number of fringe players currently out on loan.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it.

Inter are seriously considering making a big attacking signing during the summer transfer window.

That would be in addition to the arrival of Mehdi Taremi, who is set to sign on a free transfer from Porto.

Reports suggest that Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee and Genoa’s Albert Gudmundsson are among the Nerazzurri’s targets.

The problem, however, is that players like this would not come cheap.

And it is not as though Inter’s financial situation allows them to invest big fees in signings. Last summer, the club needed to sell Andre Onana in order to making the signings they did.

But according to the Gazzetta, Inter have another plan this time around.

Inter Aim To Offload Fringe Players To Fund Striker Signing

According to the Gazzetta, Inter’s idea is to bring in a total of around 10-20 million from player sales by selling players who do not currently have a place in the first team plans.

In other words, there would not be any players departing for fees along the lines of Onana last summer, or Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku three summers ago.

Rather, the Nerazzurri would aim to make some of the loan moves of players currently away into permanent deals.

These would include Joaquin Correa and Marseille, Sebastiano Esposito at Sampdoria, and Lucien Agoume at Sevilla.

Then there are Martin Satriano at Brest and Gaetano Oristanio at Cagliari.

And Standard Liege still have defender Zingo Vanheusden on loan. That deal contains an option for the Belgian club to sign the Inter-owned defender for a fee of 7 million.

Naturally, getting deals of this nature won’t be easy. The Nerazzurri will have to rely on the interest from other clubs in order to sell these players.

However, Inter feel that in at least two or three cases, they should be able to fetch a decent fee for players currently out on loan.

This would be similar to the summer of 2022. That transfer window saw Inter cash in on the likes of Andrea Pinamonti and Cesare Casadei in order to fund incoming business.
