Inter Milan have postponed contract extensions for Simone Inzaghi, Lautaro Martinez, and Nicolo Barella until the end of the season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

At the moment, there are three particularly high-profile contract situations that Inter are working on.

There is also the situation of wingback Denzel Dumfries. The Dutchman’s current deal runs out at the end of June 2025, and Inter want to either agree an extension with him or sell him in the summer.

But just as much of a priority if not moreso are three other contracts.

Coach Simone Inzaghi is currently under contract with Inter until the end of June 2025.

And the Nerazzurri will want to tie the 47-year-old former Lazio coach down on a new long-term deal. They are well aware of the interest of clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea.

Meanwhile, captain Martinez and midfielder Barella are both under contract with Inter until the end of June 2026.

According to the Gazzetta, however, Inter will not be addressing any of this trio’s contract situations right away.

The newspaper report that the club have decided to hold off on the decisive talks until the end of the current campaign.

In terms of Martinez, there was recently a meeting with the Argentine’s agent.

Martinez’s agent Alejandro Camano met with Inter in Madrid.

And the situation there is clear. Martinez and his representatives are demanding 10 million net per season in wages. Meanwhile, Inter are offering 8 million net plus add-ons.

The Gazzetta anticipate that there can be an agreement somewhere in the middle.

Meanwhile, in terms of Barella, the former Cagliari midfielder could sign a new deal until the end of June 2029 on increased wages of 7 million net per season.
