Inter Milan are still reportedly keen to sign Athletico Paranaense goalkeeper Bento in the summer.

The Nerazzurri have already tried to sign the 24-year-old last year but to no avail. The Brazilian club refused to part ways with their custodian at the time.

But according to Il Corriere dello Sport via FcInter1908, the Serie A leaders remain in prime position to sign the goalkeeper.

As the source tells it, Inter still share an excellent rapport with Athletico who promised to discuss a move by the of the season.

Since then, the dialogue between the two clubs remained open.

The Roman newspaper believes that the Nerazzurri will be hoping to sign Bento for just two or three million euros. Club directors Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio are looking to pounce on the player’s preference to join them.

If the Brazilian were to sign for Inter, the report also expects him to spend a campaign acting as Yann Sommer’s understudy before eventually taking the torch.

CdS also notes how the Nerazzurri consider Bento as someone who can replace Andre Onana’s success at the club.

This is partially due to his technical abilities which allow him to help in the play buildup.

Bento is a youth product of Athletico Paranaense who earned a promotion to the first team in 2021. His contract with the club is valid until 2026.

The shot-stopper has yet to make his international debut, but he did receive a call-up from Brazil for the March friendlies.

So it remains to be seen if he will take part in the upcoming friendlies against England and Spain.
