Icelandic international forward Albert Gudmundsson wants to leave Genoa with Inter Milan, Juventus, and Tottenham Hotspur all interested in his signature.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInter1908.

Gudmundsson is a player whose star has been rising steadily in the past twelve months or so.

The Icelander joined Genoa in January of 2022. However, he was not able to prevent the Grifone from suffering relegation to Serie B in his first season at the club.

Last campaign, Gudmundsson helped Genoa to come straight back up to Serie A.

And back in the top flight, the former AZ Alkmaar forward has thrived.

Gudmundsson has been one of the outstanding players from outside of Serie A’s biggest clubs. The 26-year-old has bagged ten goals and three assists so far this season.

Moreover, Gudmundsson has brought far more than just goals and assists to the team.

The Icelander’s versatility has been a key asset for Genoa.

Gudmundsson can play anywhere from central midfield to as a striker. Inter saw this firsthand as the 26-year-old played both roles effectively in a recent Serie A match.

Meanwhile, Gudmundsson has also been impressing for his country recently.

The Genoa forward had a starring role as Iceland beat Iceland 4-1 in a Euro 2024 qualifying match yesterday. Gudmundsson’s hat-trick proved to be the difference in that match.

Albert Gudmundsson Wants To Leave Genoa Amid Inter Links

Naturally, Gudmundsson’s form has not escaped the notice of some of Europe’s, and particularly, Italy’s biggest clubs.

Mediaset confirm recent reports that Inter consider the Icelander to be a major target.

The Nerazzurri are well aware that Gudmundsson would not come cheap.

However, the 26-year-old is a player who Inter see as having exactly the right profile to complete their attack for next season alongside the arrival of Mehdi Taremi.

Gudmundsson’s ability in tight spaces and on the dribble is something the Nerazzurri’s attack can miss at times.

Meanwhile, Inter are not the only club with a strong interest in Gudmundsson, reports Mediaset.

In Serie A, Juventus are also keen on the Icelandic international. And Tottenham Hotspur would be interested in bringing Gudmundsson to the Premier League.

According to Mediaset, Gudmundsson has decided that he wants to take the next step forward in his career with all of this interest forming around him.

The broadcaster reports that the 26-year-old has made clear to Genoa that he wants to leave this summer.

Gudmundsson’s current contract with the Ligurian club runs out at the end of June 2027. And he has told Genoa that he has no intention of extending it.
