Piotr Zielinski and Mehdi Taremi could give Inter Milan a major boost in terms of both goals and assists next season.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper note the Inter-bound duo’s exploits with their national teams.

Whilst nothing is absolutely official yet, it seems only a matter of time.

Both of Zielinski and Taremi are set to join Inter in the summer. They will arrive on free transfers when their contracts with Napoli and Porto respectively expire.

And both have the prospect of significantly improving the Nerazzurri squad despite not costing a transfer fee.

Inter are signing both Zielinski and Taremi to bolster their squad depth.

But in truth, both of the pair could be far more than just depth options. They will each arrive with a hunger to stake their claim on a regular starting spot.

And both have the capacity to give the Inter team something that it hardly lacks, but could always use more of – goals and assists.

Zielinski & Taremi Ready To Bring Goals & Assists To Inter

Both Zielinski and Taremi have been in action during the international break.,

The former started for Poland in a EURO 2024 qualifying match against Estonia. He helped his national team to a dominant 5-1 win, and got on the scoresheet in the second half.

Meanwhile, Taremi did not score for the Iran national team in a 5-0 World Cup qualifying win over Turkmenistan.

However, the 31-year-old Porto striker did bag an assist.

Both of Zielinski and Taremi are fairly prolific in terms of goal contributions relative to their positions on the pitch.

And this promises to be a boost for Inter.

Whilst the Nerazzurri have had no shortage of goals from their first-choice players this season, the backups have not scored regularly.

In attack, Alexis Sanchez and Marko Arnautovic lag far behind Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram for goal contributions.

Therefore, Inter will hope that Taremi could be the player to bolster the attack when this season’s starters are out without there being much of a dropoff.

And in midfield, the most direct stylistic backup to Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been Davy Klaassen.

Whilst the Dutchman has been fairly prolific for goals and assists throughout his career, he has yet to contribute to a goal for Inter.

Zielinski could therefore add more creativity and an eye for goal into Inter’s midfield than they have this season.
