Inter Milan’s Marcus Thuram has been one of the highest-impact attacking signings in Serie A so far this season.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews. The newspaper note that only two other new signings have scored as many goals in the Italian top flight.

Thuram may have arrived at Inter without a transfer fee last summer.

But that did not mean that the expectations around the Frenchman were not sky-high.

However, Thuram has not just met those expectations. The 26-year-old former Borussia Monchengladbach and Guingamp has exceeded them.

Thuram has scored twelve goals across all competitions. Ten of those have come in the league.

And the French international has also added seven assists in Serie A to that total.

Marcus Thuram Among Highest-Impact Attacking Signings In Serie A This Season

As the Corriere della Sera note, only two other signings from last summer have hit double figures in Serie A this campaign.

One is Duvan Zapata. The veteran Colombian has continued to prove his class in Serie A with ten goals for Torino after making the switch from Atalanta.

And Romelu Lukaku has scored the same number.

The Belgian was at the centre of a summer transfer saga that turned into a real soap opera, eventually joining Roma after comprehensively burning his bridges with Inter.

And Lukaku has hit double figures for the Giallorossi.

Then, there is former Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic. The US international has found the back of the net nine times for AC Milan.

The fact that Pulisic plays out wide rather than as a centre-forward makes that total particularly impressive.

But considering that Thuram has both scored and assisted goals throughout the campaign – and shown a penchant for important goals in big matches – it could be the Inter striker who is the best of the lot.
