Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi is ready to start trying defender Yann Bisseck out in the centre of defense.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

So far this season, Bisseck has played exclusively on the right of the back three for Inter.

The German is right-footed, and has looked at home playing in the wide role.

But that is not the only position that Bisseck is capable of playing in.

At his former club Aarhus, Bisseck had played on the left of a back three, despite his left foot being his weaker one. He had looked comfortable playing in that role.

Therefore, the 23-year-old could be an option there if Inter need him.

And moreover, Bisseck does have the qualities to play in the centre of a back three, at least on paper. The Germany Under-21 is tall, physically strong, and does possess man-marking ability.

Simone Inzaghi Ready To Try Yann Bisseck In Centre Of Back Three

Inzaghi has been thinking about solutions in the central position in the back three during the international break.

For much of the season so far, Inter have had two options in that role.

Both Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij have played substantial minutes in the middle of the back three. They are the two defenders most adept at marking physical strikers and marshalling the penalty area.

But there is a good chance of both of that duo being unavailable after the break.

In the former case, Acerbi could miss the rest of the season through suspension if he is to be found guilty of racially abusing Napoli’s Juan Jesus.

Meanwhile, it is practically certain that de Vrij will miss the next match against Empoli.

Tuttosport report that Inzaghi’s plan for the match against Empoli if he is without both Acerbi and de Vrij would be to start Alessandro Bastoni in the centre of the defensive line.

But the coach is also ready to test out other solutions over the rest of the season.

One of these could be transitioning Bisseck to that central role.

With Acerbi and de Vrij both well into their thirties, moreover, Inzaghi must think about the future of the centre of defense one way or the other.

It is likely that Inter will sign a defender soon. Possibly even this summer, particularly if Acerbi departs.

But Inzaghi also wants to find solutions in-house. And one of these could be Bisseck.
