The agent of Inter Milan midfielder Davy Klaassen explains why his client joined the club during last summer’s transfer market session.

The 31-year-old rescinded his contract with Ajax before signing for the Italian giants on a free transfer. His arrival ensued on deadline day.

But despite his considerable experience, the Dutchman hasn’t been able to carve himself an important role at Simone Inzaghi’s court.

Klaassen has made 11 Serie A appearances thus far, only one as a starter. He has yet to directly contribute to a goal in all competitions.

Nevertheless, the player’s agent only has positive things to say about his client’s Italian experience.

“Davy is fine in Milan. The team is really strong and he appreciates the coach,” said Steinar Dietz in his interview with FcInterNews.

“He is learning Italian and has adapted very well to life in Italy.

“Of course, he doesn’t play a lot, but he is part of a winning team. So there is always strong competition for starting spots.”

“Obviously, every footballer in the world wants to play every game, including Davy. So he would like to have more playing time.

“However, he understands the situation, he knows that the team is very strong and he trains every day with dedication.”

The agent recalled last summer’s transfer, noting that joining Inter was an opportunity not to be missed.

“The answer is easy. You don’t choose Inter. Inter chooses you and you say yes. It is one of the most important clubs in the world.

“It is a dream to play in Italy, it was all very simple.

“The primary objective is to win the second star and place it on the club’s jersey next season.”

The Agent Of Davy Klaassen Insists The Midfielder Is Happy At Inter Milan Despite Lack Of Playing Time

Finally, Dietz refused to discuss his client’s future, insisting that the player is happy at Inter and is only focused on achieving the club’s objectives.

“I tell you more than honestly that at the moment. Davy is only focused on the present.

“He is really, really happy at Inter. His focus is on achieving the club’s objectives. He actually asked me not to talk about any other possible transfer that concerns him now.

“He wants to be 100% focused only on winning the Scudetto with Inter.

“Then we’ll see, he can stay or leave, but these are conversations that we will think about in due time.”
