Italian journalist Paolo Condo feels that the prospect of celebrating the Scudetto title in the Derby della Madonnina will give an additional push to Inter Milan.

Simone Inzaghi’s men are currently leading the Serie A table with a 14-point gap ahead of their closest chasers who happen to be their crosstown rivals AC Milan.

The two giants are now on par in terms of Scudetto titles, with both sides boasting 19 league titles.

Milan CEO Georgio Furlani admitted that the Rossoneri were hoping to unlock the second star before Inter.

However, the Nerazzurri are set to achieve this feat first.

To add insult to injury, Inter could mathematically seal the title with a victory in the Derby. The two crosstown rivals will clash heads on April 22nd.

Therefore, Condo argues that this prospect will give Inzaghi’s men extra motivation for the upcoming weeks.

“There is a great celebration for the second star on the horizon for Inter, and the opportunity to seize it in the derby on April 22nd will give the final boost to a team whose competitive season has virtually ended in Madrid,” wrote the journalist in his column for La Repubblica via FcInterNews.

“Nevertheless, the Scudetto will brighten up the club’s campaign. But the Champions League has left some regrets, because Inter was worth the podium. It also took a toll on the club’s finances.

Paolo Condo Feels Oaktree Loan Will Become The Priority For Inter Milan Owners Suning

Condo believes that Inter owners Suning will now mainly shift their focus towards resolving the Oaktree loan.

“The Acerbi case has caused greater unease than what was perceived on the outside.

“But from now until June, the company’s attention will turn to resolving the Oaktree loan. On Monday, the last stretch begins with Empoli.”
