Benjamin Pavard is the favourite over Yann Bisseck to start in defense for Inter Milan against Empoli tomorrow evening.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.
Tomorrow evening, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has every intention of starting his strongest lineup available.
The Nerazzurri coach is not thinking about rotating the squad yet. There is still work to do for the team to get the Serie A title over the line.
Empoli may not be the toughest opposition on paper. But they will certainly come into the match with plenty of motivation, considering the Tuscans are in the relegation battle.
And by and large, Inzaghi has a clear idea of who will start in tomorrow evening’s match.
But there is one position where the Inter coach has not quite made up his mind.
And that is on the right side of the defense.
Benjamin Pavard Ahead Of Yann Bisseck To Start For Inter Vs Empoli
On paper, Pavard would certainly seem to be the player that Inzaghi would start if he is truly aiming to start his strongest possible eleven.
The Frenchman has made the starting spot his own on the right of the back three.
However, that does not mean that there isn’t competition for the start.
Germany Under-21 international Bisseck has been in outstanding form for the past several months overall.
Bisseck has made a number of starts on the right of the back three.
And according to Tuttosport, the 23-year-old has even been in contention to start against Empoli tomorrow.
But the newspaper report that it is still Pavard who is the favourite to start.
The 28-year-old should start alongside Francesco Acerbi and Alessandro Bastoni in defense.
Meanwhile, in midfield it should be the first-choice trio of Nicolo Barella, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Hakan Calhanoglu.
