Inter Milan have equalled a goalscoring record of Juventus from the 2013-14 season – and could set their sights on another.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

Among seasons from individual teams in Serie A history, few have been as impressive of that of Juventus under Antonio Conte during the 2013-14 campaign.

The Bianconeri did not manage to go unbeaten that season, as they had in Conte’s first season at the helm.

However, Juventus lost just two matches, and drew just three during that season. That meant that they amassed a whopping 102 points.

That was the most points that any team has ever collected in one season in the history of the Italian top flight.

Inter Equal Juventus 2013-14 Goalscoring Record – Now Targeting Points Record

Juventus were of course highly formidable in the 2013-14 in both defense and attack.

But it was the attack that really powered the Bianconeri’s consistency and relentlessness.

Juventus scored in each of their first thirty matches in Serie A that season.

It was in the 31st match, a 0-2 loss to Napoli, that the Bianconeri were finally unable to find the back of the net.

Inter have now played thirty matches in Serie A with their clash with Empoli yesterday.

And the Nerazzurri have managed to break through and score in each of them.

That means that Inter have equalled Juventus’s record – and could break it next week against Udinese.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri could still theoretically take more points than the 102 that the Bianconeri did in that campaign.

Inter would have to win all eight of their remaining matches to do so.

However, if they do so, the Nerazzurri would end up finishing the season on 103 points.

That will hardly be easy, of course. But Inter have already gone on a winning run of that duration this season.
