Inter Milan are still going after five records in the eight remaining matches of the Serie A season.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

Ultimately, Inter’s priority in the coming weeks is simply to clinch the Serie A title.

If the team can do that – as looks exceedingly probable – then they won’t care too much about records and statistics.

Nevertheless, the Nerazzurri do have the chance to write their names in the history books.

And there are five particular records that could mark this season from Inter out as an all-timer.

Inter Chasing Five Records In Serie A Run-In

Perhaps the most significant record that Inter could still break this season is that of most points collected in a single Serie A campaign.

That record currently belongs to Juventus. The Bianconeri finished the 2013-14 season with a total of 102 points.

Inter are currently on 79 points after thirty matches played. Therefore with eight matches to go and 24 points on offer, the Nerazzurri could still collect 103 points and set a new record.

Inter would need to win all eight remaining matches to do so. But that is not out of the question considering the team’s form over the season thus far.

And even if Inter can’t break the Serie A record, they could break their club record.

The most points that the Nerazzurri have ever taken in a single league season came in the 2006-07 campaign. They took 97 points that season.

Therefore, even if Inter drop a few points here and there over the remaining matches of this season, they could still equal or break that record.

Then, there is the matter of goal difference.

Inter’s goal difference currently stands at +57. That is sixteen away from the current Serie A record of +73.

Then, Inter have kept eighteen clean sheets so far this season. That is three away from the record of 21.

And in terms of away wins, Inter have managed twelve to date this campaign. That means that they could still equal that record as well – it stands at sixteen, and Inter play four more away matches.
