Inter Milan are ready to accelerate their efforts to sign Spurs target Albert Gudmundsson from Genoa this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The Gazzetta anticipate that the 26-year-old will cost no less than 30 million.

Recent weeks have made clear to Inter’s directors the need to reinforce in attack.

The two starting strikers, Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram, have hardly been in their best form.

And the contributions from the two backups – Alexis Sanchez and Marko Arnautovic – have not necessarily met expectations this season.

And next season will see the fixture list become even more demanding. Inter play in the expanded Champions League and Club World Cup tournaments.

Therefore, the club have a clear idea. There must be greater depth behind Martinez and Thuram – or else risk this season’s two main men from suffering some burnout in the latter stage of the campaign.

Inter Heat Up Pursuit Of Spurs Target Albert Gudmundsson

There is already one player who is confirmed to be arriving at Inter for next season.

Iranian international Mehdi Taremi will sign for the Nerazzurri when his contract with Porto expires.

Taremi should add greater quality in depth, and a strong and versatile target man.

But Inter aren’t finished there. The Nerazzurri also want to make one more big attacking signing.

And the first-choice target is clear.

Inter want to sign Gudmundsson from Genoa, reports the Gazzetta.

The Icelandic international will cost no less than 30 million, however. Having scored eleven goals and assisted a further three already this season, the Grifone aren’t going to let him go for cheap.

Moreover, there is competition for Gudmundsson’s signature.

The Gazzetta report that Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in particular are ready to make a move for the 26-year-old.

And for that reason, the newspaper anticipate, Inter are now fully ready to make their move for Gudmundsson.
