Inter Milan are ready to lock their coach Simone Inzaghi on a new contract extension until the end of June 2027.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter’s policy in recent years has been to hand one-year contract extensions to their coach at the end of each season.

Therefore, in each of the past two seasons, Inzaghi has signed a new one-year deal.

Last summer, for example, the ex-Lazio coach bumped up his contract from the end of June 2024 to the end of June 2025.

However, this time around, Inter will break from that policy, the Gazzetta reports.

Inter Ready To Hand Simone Inzaghi New Deal Until End AOf June 2027

The reason for Inter to change their approach with the newest extension for their coach is clear.

Inzaghi has become a target for a number of top clubs around Europe.

Even with Inter’s disappointing elimination from the Champions League at the hands of Atletico Madrid last month, there is a sense around the continent that Inzaghi is one of the top coaches around.

The past twelve months have seen Inter reach a Champions League final, and dominate this season in Serie A.

Therefore, Inzaghi is certainly on many clubs’ radars.

Manchester United are reportedly the team who have taken the most active interest in the Inter coach.

However, there are also Chelsea on the scene.

And with the likes of Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona all having confirmed that they will be changing coach in the summer, there is plenty of reason to think that inquiries after Inzaghi will arrive.

For this reason, the Gazzetta report, Inter are prepared to send a clear “hands off” message.

The Nerazzurri will extend Inzaghi’s contract in the coming weeks.

And it won’t just be a new one-year deal. The 47-year-old will put pen to paper on a contract until the end of June 2027, reports the Gazzetta.
