Inter Milan will reportedly entrust young defender Yann Bisseck with a new playing role starting next season.

The 23-year-old was relatively unsung before joining the Italian giants last summer. The club splashed 7 million euros to acquire his services from Danish top-flight side Aarhus.

The German initially struggled for playing time, but then took advantage of various injuries in the backline to start collecting minutes.

Bisseck has been generally impressive in his outings, earning the trust of head coach Simone Inzaghi.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport via FcInterNews, the Koln native represents the future of the club.

The Nerazzurri reportedly have big plans for the defender, beginning with a new playing role.

This season, Bisseck has always featured on the right side of the three-man defense. He’s been the main understudy for Benjamin Pavard.

But as the Roman newspaper explains, the technical staff are looking to place him as a left centre-back. In other words, he could become Alessandro Bastoni’s backup.

Bisseck is a right-footed defender, but the report notes that he did play on the left side during his experience at Aarhus.

Inter Milan Will Try Yann Bisseck On The Left Side Of The Defense Next Season

Moreover, CdS doesn’t rule out the possibility of seeing the Germany U21 starlet on the left side as early as this season.

The source reveals that Inzaghi has been testing Bisseck in this role during playing sessions at Appiano Gentile.

So perhaps the manager will be intrigued to unleash this experiment in the final weeks of the campaign, especially once the Scudetto title is mathematically sealed.

This season, Bisseck has made 18 appearances across all competitions thus far. He has contributed with two goals and an assist.
