Former Roma striker Ciccio Graziani feels that Simone Inzaghi is “one of the best coaches in Inter Milan’s history.”

Speaking on Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInter1908, Graziani lavished praised on the Nerazzurri coach.

Inzaghi is currently in his third season as Inter coach.

That is longer than many coaches make it at the Nerazzurri.

Moreover, there is a sense that the 48-year-old has several more seasons left at the club.

If Inzaghi is to part ways with Inter, it would in all likelihood be the decision of the coach rather than the club.

In his first three seasons at Inter, Inzaghi has brought two Coppa Italia and three Supercoppa Italiana titles.

Moreover, the Nerazzurri have reached the Champions League final under the former Lazio coach.

And this season, in what will surely be his crowning achievement at Inter to date, Inzaghi is set to bring the Serie A title back to Inter – and with it the second star – barring a truly history late-season collapse.

Graziani: Inzaghi One Of The Best Coaches In Inter History

It is not as though Inter have not had other great coaches already, though.

The likes of Helenio Herrera, Giovanni Trapattoni, Roberto Mancini, and Jose Mourinho are just a few of the coaches who have guided the Nerazzurri to massive success during the club’s long and illustrious history.

Still, in the view of former Italian international striker Graziani, Inzaghi has to be up there.

Asked if he thinks the 48-year-old is one of Inter’s best ever coaches, he replied “Absolutely, yes.”

“Perhaps he’s a little smaller in the standings,” Graziani said. He jokingly called Inzaghi “The runt of the litter.”

“But he has great prospects and potential.”

“He’s winning the Scudetto currently. He’s already won the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana.”

“And he keeps slowly raising the level. Now, Inter are not satisfied – they’ll be hunting for the 21st and 22nd titles.”

“Inzaghi has the fortune of coaching an ambitious club.”
