Inter Milan have yet to decide on the future of goalkeeper Emil Audero, as they face competition from the Premier League for Bento.

This according to Italian journalist Niccolo Ceccarini, who reports for TuttoMercatoWeb that the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal could rival the Nerazzurri for Bento.

Currently, Inter’s first-choice keeper is Yann Sommer, whilst Audero is the Swiss international’s backup.

Audero is only on loan at Inter from Sampdoria, however. Therefore, the Nerazzurri have a decision to make regarding the 27-year-old’s future.

Inter have a purchase option worth 7 million on Audero.

And the Nerazzurri could aim to lower that amount by also offering players going the other way to Sampdoria.

But as an alternative plan, Inter could go after a player who would not just back up Sommer in the immediate future – but also be the 35-year-old’s long-term successor.

Inter Yet To Decide Future Of Audero – Chelsea & Arsenal Competition For Bento

Athletico Paranaense keeper Bento is the player who Inter have been particularly tracking as a possible long-term successor to Sommer.

And the 24-year-old is a player who the Nerazzurri could make a move for in the summer.

However, that could become more tough. The reason is that teams in the Premier League are also starting to take an interest in the Brazilian.

Ceccarini reports that both of Chelsea and Arsenal are thinking about a move for Bento.

That would naturally mean that the price tag for the 24-year-old could rise significantly.

This may prove untenable for Inter. Therefore, they could drop out of the race to sign Bento.

And in that instance, the likelihood of Inter signing Audero on a permanent basis would increase quite a bit.

Therefore, at the moment, Audero’s future at Inter is somewhat in the air.

And it could be contingent on whether or not a swoop for Bento proves feasible.
