Simone Inzaghi feels that Inter Milan will have to be the best version of themselves to take three points against Udinese this evening.

The Nerazzurri coach spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, ahead of this evening’s Serie A clash at the Blue Energy Stadium.

This evening, Inter are in Udine where they take on Udinese.

The Friulani are currently mired in the relegation battle. But that is not necessarily a reflection of any lack of quality on their part.

Rather, Gabriele Cioffi’s have suffered from drawing far too many matches this season.

Remarkably, Udinese have not yet taken three points from a direct relegation rival, drawing most of the matches they’ve played against teams in the bottom of the table.

But the matches that the Bianconeri have won have been a testament to their quality.

Udinese have beaten all of AC Milan, Juventus, and Lazio. They also grabbed an emphatic 3-0 win against high-flying Bologna.

Simone Inzaghi: Need The Best Version Of Inter Vs Udinese

For that reason, Inter will know that there is no way that they can afford to be complacent against Udinese.

Inter coach Inzaghi said that “We certainly know the kind of team Udinese are.”

“They’re a very physical team,” the Nerazzurri coach continued. “They shine in certain kinds of matches.”

“They’ve taken points from Milan, Lazio, Bologna. We’ll need to stay focused, and be aware of our quality to have a good match.”

As far as the team’s mindset in terms of trying to clinch the Serie A title, Inzaghi said that “I have a very mature group of players.”

“We need eleven more points, and we have eleven matches to go.”

“We’ll have to face them one at a time, and with total concentration,” the Inter coach said.

“We have to understand that we’re coming up against opposition that will try to cause problems for us.”

As far as what he expects from his players this evening, Inzaghi said “We need to play a top match.”

“We’ve also gotten Arnautovic back from injury,” the Inter coach noted.

“The players are taking turns, and they’ve been giving me guarantees.”

“They’ll have to keep doing so until the end of the season,” Inzaghi added.

And the Nerazzurri coach was not getting caught up in talk of potentially breaking the record for most points taken in a Serie A season.

“The only thing I’m thinking about is Udinese,” Inzaghi made clear. “They’re a physical team, and they need all the points we can get.”

“We’ll need to play like the best version of Inter,” the coach added.
