Alexis Sanchez is the favourite over Marko Arnautovic to start in attack for Inter Milan against Cagliari tomorrow evening.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will be without his captain Lautaro Martinez in tomorrow evening’s match.

The 26-year-old will be absent through suspension. This is due to an accumulation of yellow cards.

Martinez picked up a booking during the closing stages of last Monday’s Serie A match against Udinese.

Therefore, the Inter captain will be out for tomorrow’s match. Then, he’ll be back available for the derby against AC Milan.

But in the meantime, Inzaghi will have to select the attack without his team’s top scorer, as well as leader on the pitch Martinez. Hardly a small absence.

Alexis Sanchez Ahead Of Marko Arnautovic To Start For Inter Vs Cagliari

There is little doubt that Marcus Thuram will start in attack tomorrow evening. The Frenchman will keep his place.

But as far as who leads the line alongside Thuram, there would be two candidates.

One is former West Ham United, Stoke City, and Bologna striker Marko Arnautovic.

The Austrian came back from injury in the match against Bologna. He had been out for about a month with a thigh problem prior to then.

But according to the Corriere, it will instead be Sanchez who starts tomorrow.

The former Arsenal and Manchester United veteran had gotten a few starts during an injury to Thuram a little over a month ago.

And Sanchez will once again get the chance to shine tomorrow evening as well.

Then, Arnautovic would be ready in reserve on the bench to replace Sanchez or Thuram during the match.

Meanwhile, in defense, there is another suspension – that of Benjamin Pavard. Therefore, the Corriere anticipate, Yann Bisseck will start on the right of the back three.
