Cagliari will be without two key strikers in the form of Andrea Petagna and Leonardo Pavoletti when they face Inter Milan tomorrow.

The pair are absent from the Rossoblu’s squad list for tomorrow evening’s Serie A clash due to injury. Meanwhile, versatile midfielder Nahitan Nandez and veteran Marco Mancosu are absent through suspension.

Cagliari will travel to the San Siro to face runaway league leaders Inter tomorrow in Serie A.

It will certainly be a daunting task for the Sardinian side.

Inter have lost just once all season in Serie A. They have won 26 matches and drawn four.

Cagliari, on the other hand, have been scrapping at the bottom of the table.

The Sardinians remain far closer than they’d like to be to the bottom three in their first season back in the Italian top flight.

But Cagliari have shown the ability to get big results when they need them under Claudio Ranieri.

Last week the Rossoblu got an impressive 2-1 win over Atalanta.

Cagliari Missing Petagna & Pavoletti For Inter Clash

Veteran coach Ranieri will have to set his team up without two of their main central strikers.

That is because both of Petagna and Pavoletti are out with injuries.

Petagna is currently out with a calf problem.

The 28-year-old has been missing due to the injury since the beginning of March.

Petagna has spent the season on loan at Cagliari from Monza. The former Atalanta, SPAL, and Napoli striker has scored just one goal, but nevertheless provided a real physical reference point in attack when available.

Meanwhile, veteran Pavoletti is out with an ankle sprain.

The 35-year-old has been out since the end of February. He is expected back towards the end of this month.

Pavoletti has been something of a talismanic figure for Cagliari since his arrival from Napoli in 2017.

Ranieri has shown this season that he is capable of setting his team up without a recognized Number Nine, however.

The likes of winger Zito Luvumbo and Inter-owned attacking midfielder Gaetano Oristanio have been among the players to have played in the forward line this season.

Meanwhile, against Atalanta last weekend, Roma-owned Eldor Shomurodov and Napoli-owned GIanluca Gaetano formed a front three alongside Oristanio from the start.

Another big miss for Cagliari will be Nandez.

The Uruguayan has proven capable of playing everywhere from central midfield to fullback during his time with Cagliari.
