Simone Inzaghi has kept the Inter Milan squad in a team retreat ahead of tomorrow’s Serie A match against Cagliari.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews.

Tomorrow evening, Inter take on Cagliari in Serie A.

The Nerazzurri host the Rossoblu at the San Siro for their 32nd league match of the season.

On paper, Inter will hardly see tomorrow’s match as a particularly tough one. Cagliari are currently scrapping at the bottom end of the table as they aim to avoid relegation in their first season back in Serie A.

But that was also the case for both Empoli and Udinese in Inter’s last two matches.

In both of those cases, the relegation dogfight proved to be extra motivation for Inter’s opponents. Whilst the Nerazzurri won both matches, they were hardly easy fixtures.

And Claudio Ranieri’s Cagliari will certainly be aiming for something similar.

The Sardinians know just how valuable any result against the league leaders would be.

But for Inter, three more points would be another massive step towards the Serie A title.

Theoretically, if the Nerazzurri are to win their next two matches – with city rivals AC Milan on the way next Monday – then they would mathematically clinch the title.

Even without doing that, Inter would almost certainly do so in another week or two.

But Nerazzurri coach Inzaghi is determined not to see the concentration drop or have any complacency creep in.

The coach has kept the squad in a training retreat ahead of tomorrow’s match.

Inzaghi also will not be speaking to the media today ahead of the fixture.

The 48-year-old senses the fact that there’s just one more push required to get the title over the line. And he wants the squad to have the right mindset to get it done.
