Inter Milan veteran Juan Cuadrado risks missing out on the Derby della Madonnina clash against AC Milan due to his physical condition.

The 35-year-old joined the Nerazzurri on a free transfer last summer after spending eight years at Juventus.

While the move didn’t sit well with the club’s supporters, he gradually gained their respect with some decent cameos.

But sadly for the Colombian, a recurring Achilles tendon problem hampered his campaign. He eventually underwent surgery in December to repair the damage.

Cuadrado has been out of action ever since, but made his return to the matchday squad last weekend. He was an unused substitute against Cagliari on Sunday.

However, the veteran has reportedly been working extremely hard to regain his optimal condition which took its toll on his body.

According to FcInterNews, Cuadrado is suffering from muscle fatigue, so he trained separately on Friday.

Therefore, the winger was the only player absent from Simone Inzaghi’s group training.

The source also expects the former Juventus and Fiorentina star to train on his own in the next few days.

So it remains to be seen if he’ll recover in time to earn a call-up for the Derby della Madonnina clash. The Nerazzurri will be eager to beat their arch-rivals, which would mathematically secure the Serie A title.

But even if Cuadrado misses out on the grand occasion, Inzaghi won’t be short of choices on the right flank.

Denzel Dumfries and Matteo Darmian are still vying for a starting berth in the big showdown. Tajon Buchanan is yet another option on the flanks, albeit Inzaghi has been deploying him on the left side.
