Inter Milan are reportedly looking to include Mattia Zanotti in the package to sign Genoa star Albert Gudmundsson.

The 26-year-old has emerged as arguably the ultimate breakout season of the Serie A campaign. He has already scored 13 goals for the Grifone despite playing as a second striker or an attacking midfielder.

Therefore, the Iceland international has earned himself a host of suitors for his exploits.

Nevertheless, the Nerazzurri will be hoping to beat the competition, even though Genoa are requesting at least 35 million euros to part ways with their talisman.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport via FcInterNews, Inter will be looking to sign Gudmundsson in an operation similar to Davide Frattesi’s.

In other words, the Italian champions will try to find an agreement with Genoa over an initial loan with an obligation to buy.

Moreover, Inter introduced Samuele Mulattieri in the package to sign Frattesi from Sassuolo to lower the cost.

This time around, the Nerazzurri will offer Zanotti as an exchange pawn to Genoa.

The 21-year-old primarily plays at right-back and is currently on loan with Swiss top-flight club St. Gallen. This season, he has contributed with two goals and four assists in 29 league appearances.

Therefore, Inter are hoping that Zanotti’s inclusion would sweeten the deal.

Nevertheless, the Roman newspaper warns the Nerazzurri of Premier League competition, namely from Tottenham Hotspur who remain interested in Gudmundsson.

The Icelandic star has been plying his trade at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium since January 2022. His contract with Genoa is valid until the summer of 2027.

This season, the attacker has scored 15 goals and produced four assists in 33 appearances for the Grifone across all competitions.
